Family Birth Center

A mother and baby in the Family Birth Center In Culpeper Regional Hospital's state-of-the-art Family Birth Center, we focus on family-centered care. We combine the conveniences and comforts of home with the expert care of our obstetricians (OB/GYNs), obstetrics nurses and support staff. It is our goal to give each woman and her family support and care in a homelike, relaxed environment.

Culpeper Regional Hospital's Family Birth Center is the first in Virginia to be designated as a "Baby Friendly Hospital." The designation is presented by UNICEF and the World Health Organization to hospitals that protect, support, and promote breastfeeding.

Amenities

Our birthing suites offer Jacuzzi tubs, birthing balls, music, cable TV, and a sleeper chair. In addition, our compassionate obstetrics staff will provide techniques to help alleviate the discomforts of labor.

Obstetrics Nurses

We often hear from patients how special our obstetrics nurses are. Trained in neonatal resuscitation, perinatal care, and breastfeeding, they are skilled in all aspects of obstetrics and newborn care. Many of our nurses are also certified in patient obstetrics.

C-sections

In some cases, C-sections are planned by a mom and her OB/GYN. In other cases, they're a last-minute decision. If a C-section is needed during your delivery, rest assured that you'll have a quick and seamless transition to the C-Section Suite, located right down the hall from the Family Birth Center.
